The frustrations that led to his ordination have finally disappeared after temporarily becoming a monk and now he has achieved peace of mind, according to him. “I was ordained in Shwe Hintha Sannchaung, which is just a gate away from my house. And while living as a monk for a week, I even moved to Mhorbi City’s Aung Zambu Tawya Monastery. The main reason for the ordination was because my mind had been very restless. Also, it had been a long time since I had taken the time to pray or meditate at leisure. So, I went to be a monk. It has definitely calmed my mind down,” he talks about his peace of mind attained from the procedure.

Currently, he is acting in a film named “Nipon Katone”, directed by Thapyarr Thu and co-starring actress Khine Thin Kyi. In this movie, he plays the role of a man who tricks a village by pretending to be Japanese. The film is known to be a comedy. One difference regarding this film compared to his earlier ones is that instead of just only giving his acting services as usual, he has taken up a role as advisor to the director in order to improve the plot. He tells us, “I filmed this movie after I got out of monkhood. And before that, I had been working with this director as well, so I requested to them since that time to find me a role that would be suitable for a person with a bald head. And after I got out of monkhood, this role was there right on time. For later films also, when my hair is still absent, I plan to keep on playing bald roles and not resort to having to wear a wig. Recently, for the movies that come to me, I have been able to act as an advisor, pointing out little things which I think will make the plot better. Unlike before, I have been able to discuss things out with the director before shootings.”

As for his preference, he states that in this period of time while he is still young, he wants to make romantic comedies. “I have too often been given the roles of husbands and fathers, but I feel my age is not really old enough for those. Just let me make some romantic comedies for young people for now. After the age of thirty, I have plenty of time to play of roles of married men. At my current age, I am better suited with youthful roles. I always say that if I don’t take up these part now but later decide to play the young people roles in romantic comedies after I have turned thirty, then it will definitely look weird like I am going through a second childhood in my old age. So that’s why I have been going back to making these comedies and young people movies recently,” he states.

Moe Aung Yin also believes he now has a deeper understanding of love compared to before, and that he has experienced true love. “My love life is going very smoothly. Only now, I can truly say that I have gained perfect understanding of love. It is real love. Love is not something that will stay by my side all the time. So instead thinking of how much I love her or miss her, I focus on her happiness and on doing things that make her happy. The idea that doing this is much more valuable is a grown-up philosophy I have started to adopt. She is about seven years younger than me, so sometimes I am even ashamed of myself. But this has really changed who I am in a big way,” he reveals these details regarding his love life.
